In consistence with Uganda’s Vision 2040, the CRPD, building on previous experience and taking advantage of technological advancement and local infrastructure, the proposed programme aims to strengthen the policy environment in Uganda and build institutional capacities for the use of Assistive Technology to ensure Inclusive Education and Access to Information. The proposed programme will establish linkages between Articles 9 on Accessibility, 21 on Freedom of Expression and Access to Information and Article 24 on Education of the CRPD.
The programme adopted a twin-track approach with one track focusing on policy interventions by ensuring that the policy environment becomes more conducive for the use of Inclusive Education and Access to Information.
