The Global Disability Fund (GDF) is governed by two bodies, the Steering Committee and the Programmes Committee, and is managed by the GDF Secretariat.

Steering Committee

The Steering Committee is a high-level body responsible for setting strategic direction, providing strategic programmatic and financial oversight, and supporting resource mobilisation of the Fund. It shall be composed of: 4 Participating United Nations Organizations (PUNOs) including the Chairperson, 3 donors, and 3 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). The Multi-Partner Trust Fund (MPTF) Office Executive Coordinator and the Head of the Secretariat are ex officio members of the Steering Committee. A standing invitation is extended to the Chair of the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities to participate as observers in annual meetings of the GDF Steering Committee.

Programmes Committee

The Programmes Committee is a working-level, standing committee of the Steering Committee responsible for technical oversight of programme implementation and approving programme funding decisions. It shall be composed of: 4 PUNOs, 2 GDF donors, 1 OPD, and 1 CSO, with the Director of the GDF Secretariat serving as an ex-officio member.

GDF Secretariat

The GDF Secretariat, hosted by UNDP, manages the Fund’s resources, operations, programmes, partnerships and coordination, communications, knowledge development, reporting, and resource mobilization.
