The United Nations Global Disability Fund (GDF) -formerly the United Nations Partnership on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNPRPD)- is a global multi-partner fund established to accelerate the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). Established in 2012, GDF connects UN entities, governments, organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs) and broader civil society to achieve sustainable, systemic disability inclusion.
GDF funds and coordinates collective action to deliver country-led programmes fostering inclusive and resilient communities. The Fund operates through a Multi-Partner Trust Fund (MPTF) established to channel resources for participating UN organizations (PUNOs).
The UN entities participating in GDF are ILO, ITU, OHCHR, UNDESA, UNDP, UNDRR, UNESCO, UNFPA, UN-Habitat, UNHCR, UNICEF, , UN Women, WFP and WHO. Other Fund partners include the International Disability Alliance (IDA) and the International Disability and Development Consortium (IDDC), each with a permanent seat in the governing bodies.
GDF will soon be launching its Strategy 2025 - 2030. READ OUR STRATEGIC OPERATIONAL FRAMEWORK 2020-2025
"UNPRPD is an effective vehicle for joint programming to help countries assess the actions they should take to implement the CRPD and to help build the legal and institutional capacities needed to do so".

GDF’s impact goal is to reduce the inequality and exclusion for all persons with disabilities within and across countries.
GDF's overarching vision is for the rights of persons with disabilities to be fully respected, protected and fulfilled, and for all persons with disabilities to fully and equitably participate in society.
GDF’s mission is to support countries to accelerate the implementation of the CRPD and disability-inclusive Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for all persons with disabilities with the full involvement of OPDs. UNPRPD Fund supports reforms of structures and systems in order to advance CRPD implementation, prioritizing low- and middle-income countries.
